NewshaCast’s Commitment to Sound Diversity
True to its motto — “Only the sound remains” — NewshaCast continues to define its mission through sound. Sound is also a form of diversity: just as different voices reflect a spectrum of groups, perspectives, and beliefs, they can come together in harmonious coexistence to create a memorable shared experience. Building on this vision, NewshaCast launched its audiobook streaming service in November.

A Global Persian Diaspora

High-value, multicultural, and globally distributed listeners

The Persian-speaking diaspora is one of the most globally dispersed, economically strong, and culturally connected immigrant communities. According to the Migration Policy Institute, 59% of Iranian immigrants in the U.S. hold a bachelor’s degree or higher (compared to 33% among U.S.-born adults), and 62% work in management, business, science, or arts occupations. Iranian immigrants also represent one of the most affluent and bilingual immigrant groups, with a long-standing annual presence of 10K–13K students in U.S. universities.
This demographic profile makes Persian-language audiences exceptionally valuable for brands. Their high disposable income, multilingual fluency (Persian + English/German/French), and strong cultural ties to Persian content create ideal conditions for premium advertising and brand partnerships.
For NewshaCast, this is a natural advantage: Persian-language podcasts attract listeners from across the globe—listeners who are deeply integrated into their destination societies while maintaining an emotional and cultural connection to Persian content. New Voices from YouTube

This month, NewshaCast welcomed five new podcasts to its network, all hosted by creators who previously built their audiences on YouTube. While it might seem at first glance that visual platforms are more appealing—many creators today prioritize activity on their YouTube channels—the migration is not one-way. YouTube creators are increasingly embracing podcasting as a complementary format, recognizing that audio offers unique, non-competitive listening moments. Podcasts reach audiences during commutes, workouts, or walks in nature—times when video simply cannot compete. In these moments, sound alone commands significant attention.
Among the new additions is زیستن با ادبیات(Living with Literature), featuring poetry readings by Iranian poet and songwriter Abdoljabbar Kakayi. Each episode of this program, originally around 25 minutes on YouTube, attracted a total of 225,000 downloads on its podcast launch in November—a remarkable achievement. Similarly, |پادکست جنون Junoonpodcast, which uploaded 75 episodes in its first week of audio release, reached 216,000 downloads. اتاق فکر(Thinking Room), focused on expanding mental capacity, achieved 100,000 downloads in its first month as a podcast.
These numbers illustrate a growing trend: just as podcasters explore the world of YouTube, YouTubers are increasingly entering the podcast space. Audio allows creators to engage audiences in ways that video cannot, creating a new landscape where voice and content meet listeners wherever they are. The migration goes both ways, reshaping how content is consumed and expanding the opportunities for creators to reach audiences beyond the screen.
